Resources on the net

For those who are eager to learn more in between the lessons, there is help! ;-)
There are lots of resources for Lindy hop on the net. For instance on youtube, if you want to have a look at some of the moves we have done in the lesson so far, check out following videos of the swing out, circle or Charleston (or try this one). Among many other videos of course...

As Ieva suggested, there are different versions of the shim sham out there, so check out several videos to get an idea of it.

There are lots of other clips of shows, competitions and social dancing. So just try to search and you’ll find more material than you’ll ever be able to watch. (Try search words such as Lindy hop, Herrang, Jack & Jill, Frankie Manning, Leon James, Norma Miller, Sakarias & Frida, etc…)

On wikipedia there is a lot about the history of Swing dance, swing music and Lindy hop:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swing_music
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lindy_hop

Obviously reading and watching videos alone will not make you a better dancer (but it helps), so we look forward to see you again on the dance floor! We got lots of new steps, rhythms and routines waiting for you!

P.S. Don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom of the page to activate and listen to the Jukebox. These are some typical swing songs. Feel free to email us if you have other songs in mind you’d like to have added.
